Director of Technology
We:

You:
- Have hands-on experience as a senior or lead developer with a background in architecture and creating complex systems. Specific experience working with JAVA, JSP, Spring, Hibernate and MySQL required.
- Have a passion for web technologies and a strong desire to work on a highly participatory product development team.
- Have experience recruiting, leading and growing a development team.
- Are looking for a full time position and reside in LA, though we’re open to telecommuting.
Responsibilities:
- Provide hands-on platform and feature-level software development and architecture.
- Recruit, manage and mentor development team.
- Collaborate with other technologists to create an exceptional consumer experience.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of industry experience designing and developing large scale, high traffic consumer-facing web applications.
- Expert-level Java skills and object oriented design experience, including strong knowledge of core libraries and common design patterns.
- Experience with a wide array of modern programming languages and the ability to learn new languages and frameworks.

QUALITY ASSURANCE ENGINEER

The Quality Assurance Engineer develops and executes test plans as well as manages and maintains test scenarios and test scripts for manual and automated testing. This role is an integral part of the Product Development team and will have the potential to participate in all facets of the product development process.
Projects will include:
- Ongoing feature development
- Process review: listing creation, video upload & transcoding and commerce
- Integration of social software tools and exploration of future technologies
- Customer Service & Support
- Widget and social application development
Test Planning
- Understands business purpose and context of software applications being tested.
- Prepares scripts for manual and automated test execution.
Quality Assurance / Defect Tracking
- Owns test documentation and tracking of product defects
- Helps enforces defect tracking standards.
Customer Service
- Coordinate, and manage all customer service issues, complaints and feedback.
- Direct communication with user's who have asked for customer service regarding Shopflick and the Shopflick Filmmaking Network.
- Collaboration with the Editorial, Marketing and Technology Groups to minimize the number of potential problems found.
Skills:
- Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Computer Science.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate with various internal clients and external partners.
Experience:
- 2+ years of web-based quality assurance experience.
- Experience black box testing with some white box testing.
- Understanding and experience with objected oriented analysis and design a plus.
- Experience with XML, XSLT, Perl, C++, Web Services, Oracle and stored procedures a plus.
- Experience with Apache Tomcat Webserver, Spring framework, Hybernate, MySQL DB a plus.

The Position:
- Responsible for all publicity, promotions and public relations for Shopflick, a start-up video shopping site
- Develop long-range strategic communication plans and formulate short-term plans for press relations, promotion and publicity.

- Oversee communications with the news media, consumer, and trade press and business groups relevant to the Company
- Through media relations, speaking engagements, and promotional events, position the company and its appropriate senior executives as leaders within their respected industries
- Develop promotions and special events aimed at increasing awareness and appeal of the Shopflick brand and the company's various offerings
- Develop edit, revise and rewrite strong written communications including press releases, speeches, white papers, and other documents to ensure favorable communications messages for Shopflick.
- Conceive and develop opportunities for issues-oriented coverage that would be beneficial for the Company.
- Act as senior spokesperson for the Company and its businesses to the media, when required or appropriate.

Requirements:

The Programming Manager is responsible for the ongoing featuring of the best products, stores and shoppings shows on Shopflick
Projects will include:
- Daily management of the site's key merchandising modules including top picks, featured stores and other merchandising themes
- Analysis of site, product and store trends
- Use learnings to inform programming strategies and seller/store recruitment
Programming/Merchandising
- Understand and drive Shopflick's existing and future programming
- Breadth and Depth: Where are Shopflick's merchandising gaps and areas for expansion
- Performance: Analysis of both historical/seasonal and daily/weekly trends
- Forecasting: What does current programming say about where we need to go?
- Follow, understand and communicate trends through online programming
- Work with product development, business development and merchandising groups to execute various initiatives
- Apply analytical findings to inform and influence Shopflick's future merchandising strategy
- Track external sources and resources for evaluation of content ideas
- Convert insights into new ideas and match ideas against existing programming
- Coordinate and implement daily special offers for Featured Shopflick stores
Experience/Skills:
